As a resident of New York City then you may also be considering your options for who you will support in the upcoming 2025 New York CIty Mayoral election

You can use New York City’s website to learn more about where to go to vote or you can just enter you address when you visit: https://findmypollsite.vote.nyc/ to find your polling site.

With the recent allegations against our current Mayor, there have been many qualified candidates stepping up to challenge the incumbent running for re-election.

The current Mayor Eric Adams serves as the 110th Mayor of New York City and previously served as Brooklyn Borough President from 2014 to2021.

If money is any indication of where things stand, the current mayor is ahead of all other registered candidates so far with the most in total campaign contributions.

Based on the Wikipedia page for the 2025 NYC Mayoral Election, the website for the current Mayor is missing. This should raise questions for anyone.

Another likely candidate is Curtis Sliwa, a broadcaster and founder of the Guardian Angels who ran against the Mayor in the 2021 NYC Mayoral Election and lost.

Branding himself ‘The People’s Mayor’ Sliwa is an out-spoken republican candidate who has been active in the New York City political scene for over 3 decades.

Even though Sliwa is not officially listed as a candidate for 2025, in the 2021 election, he earned 27% of the votes to Adams’ 66%

A candidate that many voters may have heard of already is Jessica Ramos, the NY State Senator from the 13th district.

Ramos was quoted as saying “You’ll never have to wonder who I’m working for — or who’s paying me. We need to bring that trust back to city hall,” she said.

“I’m a mother, I’m a renter, I’m a straphanger — and I’m ready to be the next mayor of New York City.”

Ramos has also been in the news for her opposition to a proposed casino bid from Mets owner Steve Cohen in the parking lot around Citi Field. The land, technically parkland, requires her approval to alienate it for development — which she said she won’t do.

Last year, after the first federal investigations into the Adams administration emerged, she told THE CITY the mayor needed to be challenged.  “Somebody should, maybe it’ll be me,” she said.

Zohran Mamdani is running for New York City mayor with the Democratic Socialists of America’s endorsement. Zohran Mamdani is an Assemblymember from the 36th district of New York.

The Queens Democrat is the furthest left candidate in the race. But he isn’t just angling for socialist voters, Mamdani said, noting that all rent-stabilized apartment dwellers across the city are in his sights — with the promise that his Rent Guidelines Board won’t raise rent one cent.

He’s been called the longshot, but if his campaign brings out new voters, he may be able to pull voters from other candidates or the incumbent, also.

Other candidates include NY State Senator from the 20th district Zellnor Myrie and  the previous and current New York CIty Comptroller’s Scott Stringer & Brad Lander, respectively. Both candidates have a long history serving New York City residents.

Scott Stringer served as the Manhattan Borough President from 2006 to 2013 and was  Manhattan Borough President from 2006 to 2013. Before that he served as the NY State Assemblyman from the 67th district from 1993 to 2005.

The previous Comptroller, Brad Lander served as the City councilor from the 39th district from 2010 to 2021.
